Hoping to repair her damaged relationship with her sister, Snow White decides to bring Rose Red along for her bi-annual trip to visit The Farm. While many of the Fables are able to hide in plain sight in New York City, the less human among them are forced to live on a magically protected farm. However, it would appear that matters upstate are far from rosy. With a revolution brewing, it's up to Snow White and the few remaining faithful to bring a stop to things before a civil war erupts, pitting Fable against Fable and sister against sister.
This collection definitely borrows heavily from Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies, in addition to the numerous fairy tales that inspired these stories. Once again, I was impressed by how much depth with which the author and artist were able to fill the pages. I think that this story was an improvement over the first collection, and I look forward to reading further installments.
